A leak at a sewage treatment site in Wales has led to water pollution at Black Brooks.
The Leader has reported that the waterway between Padeswood and Buckley has been affected by the
wastewater leak.
A spokesman for Welsh Water revealed that a power failure resulted in screened sewage entering the water course from Ty Gwyn
wastewater treatment works.
He said: "Once the cause was found, our operators rectified the problem immediately, so that disruption could be minimised."
Water from River Dee is subject to a full treatment process, he went on to say, so no customer supplies were affected by the discharge.
Environment Agency Wales' Dave Powell noted that there were no signs any fish were killed as a result of the leak and a clean-up operation has begun to reduce any damage.
Last month, Welsh Water announced it will improve
water quality in Trearddur Bay by replacing existing pipes in the area.
