The Environment Agency is planning to host a number of workshops designed to inform West Midlands farmers about new environmental legislation.

In conjunction with West Midlands Rural Hubs, the organisation is inviting local agriculturalists and land managers to learn more about complying with new regulations included in the Nitrate Vulnerable Zone action programme.

Principal land management officer Anna Hall said that the events are designed to advise people on making calculations using their owning farming data.

"We are hoping that all that come along to these events will gain a better understanding of the regulations and will go away with at least some of the paperwork completed," she stated.

Locals in the area will also be taught how to better understand paperwork and improve their record-keeping skills, as well as being given the chance to ask any questions.

The Environment Agency is an executive non-departmental public body responsible to the secretary of state for environment, food and rural affairs.
