Latest Developments Showcased at A+A

Oct 03 2013

Scott Safety (USA), a global specialist in the design, manufacture and supply of personal and respiratory protective equipment, will reveal  a range of new products in respiratory protection and gas detection at the world's largest specialist trade fair, A+A (Dusseldorf, 5th- 8th November 2013, A51, Hall 6).

Scott Safety will preview a new range of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) that will provide the ultimate comfort, reliability and performance for those working in the emergency firefighting, marine and industrial sectors. The new ProPak SCBA range is a lightweight set that incorporates the proven technology found in Scott Safety’s trusted SCBA products; offering the highest levels of protection whilst providing the wearer  with ease of movement and comfort.

Scott Safety also recently developed its 379bar high pressure cylinder. At 25% higher pressures than the current 300bar SCBA, the new cylinder offers significantly increased duration with minimal increases in size and weight of the SCBA. A key advantage of this is that a cylinder the size of a typical 60 minute cylinder will now provide a duration of 75 minutes providing users with a convenient method of utilising an extended duration breathing apparatus.

Scott Safety’s latest Modular Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) product range ensures maximum user comfort and protection. Designed as a ‘Pick and Play’ solution, the Modular PAPR system allows users to select from interchangeable blowers, headtops and hoses to ensure they can access the most appropriate respiratory protection solution for their needs.

Adding to its respiratory protection range, Scott Safety will be showcasing its Modulair Max high capacity airline trolley system. Providing air for up to 4 simultaneous users and approved to supply air with lengths of airline hose up to 105 metres, the trolley system enables a safe system for supplying air over a prolonged duration.

Also on the stand will be the popular Protégé ZM Single Gas Monitor - a zero maintenance gas monitor that is easy to use and delivers high performance in a small, ergonomically designed package. Designed for a variety of environments, three single gas models are currently available, including Oxygen, Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen Sulphide.

Scott Safety’s personal protection range of safety products have evolved over the years through customer feedback, testing and continuous improvement in design, with an emphasis on safety, comfort and fit. At A+A, Scott Safety will be showing a range of new products.

First Base 3 Flame Retardant bump cap is designed to provide additional bump protection for workers in industrial applications where hot sparks may be a hazard, such as automated welding lines, grinding or where flammable liquids are used in the production process.

Scott Safety will be introducing a new and revitalised goggle range – the first stage in a total revamp of its eye protection portfolio.  With stylish aesthetics, impact, chemical splash, UV and Infra-Red protection solutions, the range has been simplified to improve correct selection with a unique colour coding system by application and material.

Scott Safety’s helmet head harness combinations are widely regarded as some of the most balanced and stable available and the new Safety Helmet ratchet headgear is designed as an ideal one-handed, size adjustment mechanism for those working at height, in windy or inverted positions, for example.  The new Safety Helmet chinstraps, with 2 or 3 point designs, are easy to attach or remove and have been purpose designed in high quality materials that integrate into the overall system design of the Scott Safety helmet, offering a total industrial head protection range.
