New Era in Gas Detection Launched at WWEM 2012

Sep 26 2012

Visitors to WWEM at the Telford International Centre on the 7th and 8th November, will be amongst the first to see a new innovation by safety specialist, Draeger Safety (UK) which marks a major step forward for fixed gas detection.

Dräger will unveil its new Polytron 8000 flammable or toxic gas detector series at the exhibition. Designed specifically to measure gases using a uniform operating principle this new innovation will make the entire process of fixed gas detection much easier from an operator point of view.

As well as the new Polytron 8000, Dräger will be showcasing the Polytron 5000 which launched earlier this year and the existing Polytron 3000 and 7000 range.

All devices in the Polytron range feature durable sensors, short response times, high sensitivity and accuracy, ensuring highly reliable gas detection.

The advantages of the newest additions to the Polytron series include low sensitivity to other gases or changing ambient conditions, simplified handling and easier maintenance, without sacrificing functionality.

Because all the microprocessor-based transmitters in the Polytron 5000 and 8000 series have a common design, user interface and uniform operating philosophy and menu structure less training is required.

Steve Robinson at Dräger comments: “We have many years’ experience of developing safety equipment that reduces maintenance requirements and ownership costs such as the PIR 3000 flammable gas detector, with its H2S immunity and increased calibration intervals or the Dräger EC toxic sensor which requires calibration only once per year.

“With the Polytron 5000 and 8000, the common menu structure and user interface means training requirements are reduced and so the cost of ownership is reduced still further.”
