A water quality company which provides solutions to those working in the drinking water and wastewater treatment fields is showing its support for the world's first transatlantic regatta to combine sports, social solidarity and entertainment.

Suez Environnement will be hosting a giant water bar at the Solidaire du Chocolat this Sunday as it claims to share the values demonstrated by the participants of the event.

According to race skipper and organiser Damien Grimont, "for the first time, this is a socially-conscious regatta bringing together sailors, sponsors, associations and patrons in a genuine civic initiative".

Designed to promote sustainable development, the regatta - which sets sail on October 18th from Nantes/Saint-Nazaire in France, is due to end up in Mexico's Yucatan State.

This news comes after the Spanish government pledged its commitment to addressing the security, development and protection of the environment at the United Nations General Assembly late last month.
