New Greenhouse Gas Monitors Launched

Feb 07 2012

Air quality monitoring specialists, Enviro Technology (UK), have made their first foray into the highly specialist field of scientific instrumentation with the launch of a range of innovative technologies aimed at atmospheric scientists and climate change researchers.

Enviro Technology’s new range of Los Gatos Research (LGR) Gas Analysers are specially designed, highly advanced air monitoring instruments to precisely measure and analyse climate change and are ideally suited for scientific and research applications.

The LGR Greenhouse Gas Analyser is an advanced instrument for taking simultaneous measurements of methane, carbon dioxide and water vapour.

Based on the fourth generation of cavity ring-down spectroscopy (CRDS), a highly sensitive optical spectroscopic technique for accurately measuring gas samples, the new LGR analysers use off-axis integrated cavity output spectroscopy (ICOS).

The LGR Off-axis ICOS analysers measure a wide range of gases and can be used for many different applications. The benefits include; fast measurement times, ‘direct’ gas measurement, wide operating ranges (often spanning several orders of magnitude), high precision, rugged build quality (perfect for field studies) and long service intervals.

Enviro Technology’s Sales and Marketing Director Duncan Mounsor said: “Accurate measurement of atmospheric gases that contribute to climate change is an imperative today. Whether it’s to monitor carbon emissions, work out carbon taxes or for use in atmospheric studies, the need for high performance technology that measures effectively and accurately is more critical than ever before.

“We are confident that our new LGR range offers the scientific community major advances over existing technology and will be in high demand by scientists and researchers due to the fact they are robust, affordable and simple to use remotely while offering high accuracy, even when used for long periods of time in the field.

“This launch further strengthens our extensive portfolio of high quality air pollution monitoring systems to meet the wide range of air quality measurement needs from local authorities, businesses and industry to the scientific and research community.”
