EPUK Announces Support for ‘AQE 2013’

Jan 29 2013

The organisers of Air Quality and Emissions 2013 (UK) are delighted to announce that Environmental Protection UK has agreed to support the event by running a major conference on air quality alongside the show, which will take place at the Telford International Centre, 13-14 March.

AQE 2013 is the seventh in a series of specialist air monitoring events (previously known as MCERTS), and the new name is a reflection of the fact that the format is being considerably expanded. Traditionally, the MCERTS events focused purely on industrial emissions and stack monitoring of (Part A) processes regulated by the Environment Agency (EA), but AQE 2013 will now also address the emissions to air of Part A2 and Part B processes which are controlled by local authorities, in addition to several new aspects of air quality protection such as abatement and mitigation.

EPUK Chief Executive James Grugeon is delighted with the change in format. He says: "In comparison with the EA regulated businesses, there are about eight times as many processes that are regulated by local authorities, which are also looking for accurate reliable monitoring data. It therefore makes a lot of sense for these two groups to come together and discuss issues of common interest.

"I am extremely pleased to announce EPUK's participation in AQE 2013, because the event will help bring together many of the key players in the air quality sector and thereby help to spread best practice."

EPUK's conferences attract high level speakers from Defra, COMEAP, the HPA and local government, and delegates are mostly EPUK members which include local authorities (environmental health, transport etc.) policy makers, consultants and commercial companies.
