Svantek (UK) designers of innovative noise and vibration monitoring instrumentation, is proud to announce the launch of its new SV106 Human Vibration Meter and Analyser. This up-to-the minute instrument, which is capable of measuring both hand-arm (HAV) and whole body vibration (WBV), is so advanced that it can measure vibration simultaneously on both hands, using two tri-axial accelerometers.

Monitoring and control of vibration in the workplace, both HAV from hand-held power tools and WBV from machines producing elevated vibration levels, is essential to avoid prosecution under the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005, as well as to prevent harm to employees, such as the excruciating Vibration White Finger and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and long-term back pain.

The lightweight, pocket sized Svantek SV106 analyser with its high-resolution colour display provides a completely new approach to vibration monitoring. Featuring six channels for vibration and two channels for static force measurement, the innovative SV106 can also be used to measure whole-body vibration when used with a seat accelerometer.

The instrument provides both octave and third octave real time band analysis and fully complies with standards ISO 8041:2005 and ISO 2631-1,2&5 (including VDV and MTVV) for human vibration and ISO 5349 for hand-arm vibration.

Data from SV106 can easily be downloaded to any PC for fast and accurate analysis, troubleshooting and reporting, using a USB interface and Svantek’s dedicated SvanPC+ software. The device allows advanced data-logging including spectral analysis; the memory can also be expanded by using a micro SD flash card.

The SV106 is a cost-effective solution for HAV and WBV measurement  – a complete solution is available in the UK for less than £2,500. Yet although the solution is very competitively priced, it boasts all the features of far more expensive monitoring systems.
