Blackline GPS Corp (Canada), a leader in work alone employee safety monitoring with one of the most complete product portfolios, has created a new, wholly-owned subsidiary – Blackline GPS Europe Ltd. Located in Colchester, Essex, United Kingdom, Blackline GPS Europe is ideally positioned to target the key European, Middle Eastern, and African markets (EMEA). The European market alone is estimated to grow to 650,000 lone worker devices by 2018 according to Berg Insight – a leading research group whose focus areas are Wireless M2M, Location-Based Services, Mobile Value-Added Services, and Next Generation Technologies. Blackline’s move to open this new, international office aims to capitalise upon anticipated market growth, concentrating on delivering high quality local sales and customer support within the EMEA territory.

“Establishing our first international office in the UK and Europe marks a significant milestone for the

company,” says Cody Slater, CEO and Chairman of Blackline GPS. “Opening May 1st of this year, our

new location will enable Blackline to better serve companies in this region that hold employees and their

safety as a top priority.”

Gavin Boorman has been appointed Managing Director of Blackline GPS Europe and was formerly the

European Managing Director for BW Technologies, a leading manufacturer of gas detection

instrumentation made in Calgary, distributed globally, and created by much the same team now behind

Blackline GPS. Mr. Boorman brings more than 25 years of experience in the safety industry to this role

and has previous experience with distribution of Blackline’s employee safety monitoring solutions in the

EMEA marketplace.

“We have seen significant interest in the Blackline offering throughout EMEA, and already have a number

of major projects in the pipeline,” said Gavin Boorman, Managing Director of Blackline GPS Europe.

“Blackline’s unique technology offering, together with a strong regulatory environment within EMEA, and increasing awareness of the need to protect lone workers suggest that the time is right to create the local office, and realize the opportunity.” Blackline’s Loner family of employee safety monitoring products communicates via cellular networks with operation in over 80 countries. The company’s upcoming Loner 900 System will provide safety monitoring capability for remote locations beyond the reach of traditional cellular networks for use in the Americas, Europe, Africa and much of the Middle East. Loner safety monitoring solutions are person-worn devices that alert their employer and monitoring personnel of potential risks to the health and safety of employees including injuries and health incidents. The goal of Loner products is to enable employers to improve an employee’s outcome through delivery of an efficient emergency response to the individual’s precise location, saving valuable response time.
