Manchester-based Analytical Technology Inc. (ATi) announces that it has received a ‘Best Instrument Supplier’ award in Q2 2007 from utilities provider United Utilities for its provision of residual chlorine monitors. The award was presented to ATi after an in-depth evaluation of all suppliers by United Utilities and recognises ATi’s outstanding performance across a range of key areas including project design, delivery and quality. United Utilities’ operational equipment suppliers are monitored each quarter for quality and performance against a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

During the award process, United Utilities’ partners and contractors score all framework suppliers according to a number of KPIs. United Utilities then consolidates each supplier’s score and produces a final list of winners in each category. KPIs range from design, quotation reply and programme delivery to project quality, health and safety and early warning notices. Scoring highly in each area, ATi was recognised for its promptness of design approval, quotation reply and programme delivery. Additionally, the project has raised no Non Conformance Reports (NCR) or Health and Safety Executive findings and the performance of the monitor dictates that there is no need for Early Warning Notices.

Michael Strahand, General Manager Europe at ATi, comments: “We are delighted to receive the Quarterly Best Instrument Supplier Award from United Utilities. This recognition reflects our commitment to working closely with utility companies in order to improve water quality across the UK.”

Lorraine Morton, Category Lead – Services at United Utilities, said: “ATi specialises in chlorine residual analysers, which perfectly suited our applications. We have found ATi’s monitors to be a viable option providing quality, good price and whole life costing benefits to United Utilities, and we are pleased to reward this with the Best Instrument Supplier award.”
