Valeport is enjoying an exciting journey of expansion within a global market for innovative oceanographic, hydrographic and hydrometric instrumentation that is expanding rapidly. Located in the idyllic setting of Devon, in the southwest of the UK, Valeport is now spread across three modern waterfront buildings, covering an impressive 44,000 square feet (4,090 square meters).

The recent acquisition of Radcliffe House, a riverside building adjacent to their existing premises, has lifted Valeport into an era of unprecedented growth. This exciting acquisition comes in response to the surging demand for its precision probes and sensors, necessitating the company’s expansion to its new, modern manufacturing facility. Radcliffe House will primarily serve as the new home for Valeport's office-based staff, opening the Sandquay Building to be dedicated exclusively to Valeport Water and Valeport Service. Valeport has revamped Radcliffe House with modern amenities, including the installation of solar panels on the roof, and invested in upgrades to its existing buildings, including a roof replacement for the Sandquay Building to enhance thermal efficiency.

Valeport will be expanding its skilled workforce as well; the company has welcomed new team members in several departments, including the machine shop, product assembly, R&D, and service teams. Additionally, Valeport has invested in apprenticeship programs, demonstrating a long-term commitment to nurturing talent and supporting its expansive growth trajectory. With six apprentices currently in training and ten graduate apprentices employed by Valeport, the company is sowing the seeds for its continued success.

The sensor specialist’s success story is intertwined with buoyant markets, especially in the field of remotely operated vehicles (ROV) and survey operations within the oil and gas and renewable energy sectors. Matt Quartley, the Managing Director of Valeport, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The extension to the production facilities and additional space will enable us to support our clients across the world and ensure we continue to be at the forefront of premium, precision sensor technology. The increase in our manufacturing capacity and new staff to support our expansion plans puts us very much on the front foot.”

As Valeport sets sail on this new voyage of expansion, we eagerly await the next wave of groundbreaking precision sensor technology solutions from this dynamic and highly innovative company.
