Blackline Safety have recently partnered with Calgary Zoo in an agreement that will help protect wildlife, its environment and the dedicated staff who look after the animals.

Blackline are donating $200,000 worth of products and services which includes sixty-five G7c Lone Worker Monitors with four years of monitoring inclusive of their emergency response service. Personnel will be protected by the wearable safety devices which feature configurable incident detection and alerts, as well as an SOS emergency latch to manually call for assistance. If a team member stops moving for a pre-set period, falls or fails to check-in when expected, wireless technology will alert the monitoring team and enable a rapid emergency response.

“Today’s announcement represents the first in series of global investments by Blackline toward supporting the people who lead conservation efforts around the world and to help them safely carry out their duties to protect the natural world and species at risk.” said Cody Slater, Chief Executive Officer, Blackline Safety.

The investment is intended to help the Calgary Zoo which is Global Secretariat of the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Species Survival Commission Conservation Translocation Specialist Group, realise its ambition of being Canada’s leader in wildlife conservation. This project also includes the zoo’s offsite Wildlife Conservation Centre, at which a wide variety of endangered species breeding programs occur.

Jamie Dorgan, Director of Animal Care for the Calgary Zoo stated “This investment helps our animal care specialists show up every day to do the very best they can for the creatures that they love and ensure the zoo continues to be considered an international leader in the preservation of our planet’s biodiversity.”
