Alphasense and AMETEK MOCON establish gas sensor centre of excellence

Alphasense, part of AMETEK Mocon, is investing in research and development to support its growth in air quality and gas safety sensors by establishing a Centre of Excellence.
The centre is located at its UK manufacturing facility in Essex, UK, and will focus on greater investment in innovative research and development projects.
With an established reputation as a manufacturer of market-leading gas sensors, coupled with a history of engineering experience, Alphasense will not only offer enhanced product developments within the air quality and safety industries, but will offer career developments for local people.
Erik Boergesen, DVP Business Manager of MOCON Europe and Alphasense said: “We are excited to establish this global centre of excellence for gas sensor technology and bring even more manufacturing opportunities to our Braintree facility.

The centre of excellence, along with the existing manufacturing facilities, houses state-of-the-art automation which supports Alphasense’s continued advances in manufacturing and technology. Alphasense’s range of sensor technologies includes electrochemical, catalytic, optical (NDIR and PID), semiconductor/metal oxide.
