New Portable Photometer for COD Analysis

Jan 16 2014

MACHEREY-NAGEL (Germany) is pleased to present the new PF-3 COD. Together with the proven NANOCOLOR® test kits, the new PF-3 is the perfect combination for cost-efficient and reliable COD analysis.

The COD concentration plays a major role for the assessment of waste water. As a sum parameter for the organic load within water, the chemical oxygen demand (COD) is one of the most important parameters in waste water analysis. Amongst other things, the parameter is used for calculation and control of water purification in sewage plants.

With the new PF-3 COD, MACHEREY-NAGEL offers a unique and mobile instrument for convenient COD analysis at low cost. The user-friendly and precise NANOCOLOR® test kits allow easy and fast measurements and maximum safety for the user. Contact with any dangerous chemicals is avoided, because the measurement is performed directly in the test tube.

With the new version of the compact photometer PF-3, you also benefit, of course, from convenient handling and the comprehensive menu structure, as well as its handy and robust design. The instrument is water proof according to IP 68 and enables reliable performance even under extreme conditions. The unique “Open-Slot”-technology allows you to measure without a cuvette slot cover, thus simplifying and speeding up your processes. Additional features such as optional 0-measurement storage, multiple power supply options and a bright display add to the power and user-friendliness of the PF-3.

With the instrument´s USB interface, you can quickly transfer data or update the instrument, supply it with power or charge the (optional) accu-pack. As with all MACHEREY-NAGEL photometers, they provide free of charge software packages to administer and manage your data. Using the USB interface, you can also add any additional tests that may be available for your specific version free of charge. Thus, MACHEREY-NAGEL can address their customers´ future needs, enabling them to benefit from all the options of the NANOCOLOR® system without incurring unnecessary costs.
