New, advanced limit monitor series provides a gas monitoring system for enhanced industrial safety

02 Sep, 2025

LogiDataTech will introduce its new GWU gas detection and monitoring system in the third quarter of 2025, replacing the long-standing GWZ-Sx series. Designed for industrial safety, process monitoring, and environmental control, the GWU provides greater configuration options, expanded connectivity, and features suitable for a wide range of applications.

The compact 9 TE DIN rail module offers four analogue 4–20 mA inputs and four digital 24 VDC inputs for gas sensors and signalling devices. Its outputs include three relays, an error relay rated for 240 VAC, a 24 VDC maintenance relay, and a dedicated output for buzzers or horns. An RS-485 Modbus-RTU interface allows connection to supervisory control and data acquisition systems, supporting remote monitoring and integration into broader site safety and environmental management systems. Multiple GWUs can be networked to create a single coordinated detection system, enabling coverage across multiple floors or between different buildings.

For data retention and reporting, the GWU uses an onboard data logger that records events and measurements onto a micro-SD card, enabling long-term storage for performance monitoring and audits. Configuration can be done directly on the device using control keys and a graphical LCD display, or through a USB interface with dedicated PC software.

The GWU will be available as either a 9 TE DIN rail module or a wall-mounted IP65 enclosure with an integrated 24 VDC and a 100 W power supply, offering installation options for various industrial and environmental monitoring scenarios.
