Call for papers: 2025 emissions and air quality monitoring conference

22 Apr, 2025

The Scientific Committee of the 16th CEM event, an international conference and exhibition focussing on emissions and air quality monitoring, is pleased to call for papers for CEM Europe 2025, which will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia from 24th to 26th September 2025.

Held in parallel with the 4th International Methane Measurement (IMM) conference, CEM 2025 offers a unique platform for professionals, researchers, regulators, and technologists involved in atmospheric pollution monitoring to present their work, share ideas, and discuss the future of air quality and emissions monitoring.

We invite submissions for both oral and poster presentations on the following topics:

  • Air quality networks and sensors
  • Biogenic carbon measurement
  • Dust measurement at low concentrations
  • Emissions regulation and future monitoring challenges
  • Livestock and agricultural emissions
  • Fenceline monitoring and measurement of fugitive/diffuse emissions
  • Future directions in emissions monitoring
  • Gaseous species at low concentrations (e.g. HCl, HF, NH₃, SO₃, CH₄, N₂O, CHOH, TOC)
  • Greenhouse gases
  • Hydrogen in flue gas
  • Industrial case studies (e.g. power, cement, metals, chemicals, glass, mining, waste management, incineration)
  • Industrial IoT and data acquisition
  • Innovative measurement technology
  • Marine CEMs
  • Mercury and trace metals
  • Methane measurement
  • Net Zero
  • Standards and quality (including measurement uncertainty and detection limits)
  • Trace amine and nitrosamine measurement
  • PFAS, microplastics and other emerging pollutants

We are particularly interested in contributions that include:

  • Industry case studies
  • Performance and validation data
  • Quality assurance and uncertainties
  • Reference materials and traceability
  • Research activities and novel techniques
  • Data interpretation and discussion

Please note that abstracts must be technical and non-commercial in nature.
