Socotec has recently renewed its partnerships with MSA Safety Ltd and the Coal Authority.

As one of the key manufacturers of confined space and underground safety apparatus, MSA Safety supplies gas monitoring equipment for Socotec’s ISO9001:2015 accredited Instruments division. Socotec has agreed to maintain its channel partner status with MSA, which provides access to substantial discounts across Multigas and Latchways equipment, filter and oxygen generating self-rescue devices and a range of safety wear for the head, eyes and ears.

Socotec’s instruments team has also renewed its contract with the Coal Authority, a non-departmental public body geared to making a better future for people and the environment in mining areas, and will continue to act as the organisation’s preferred supplier for its instrument service, maintenance and supply function for two years.

With a number of MSA gas monitors and Gas Data Ltd landfill monitors routinely serviced, repaired and calibrated at Socotec’s Burton upon Trent site, the contract renewal has enabled the organisation to continue offering a ‘one stop shop’ for all of the Coal Authority’s instrument maintenance requirements.

“Having collaborated and cooperated with MSA for over three decades, this contract renewal will allow Socotec’s instruments team to maintain a high level of professionalism and experience in the servicing, repair and supply of its safety equipment,” says Heather Sanders, Socotec’s instruments business manager.

“We are also proud to keep working alongside the Coal Authority and are hoping to further cement this rapport by purchasing new landfill gas monitors to upgrade and replace their older generation instruments. Both of these contracts are vital in ensuring that Socotec continues to be the preferred partner for instrument maintenance, repair and calibration.”
