Servomex Achieves The Planet Mark Sustainability Certification

Jul 28 2015

Servomex (UK) has achieved The Planet Mark sustainability certification through a commitment to reduce its carbon footprint by five per cent year on year.

A relatively new certification, The Planet Mark is an independent and impartial accreditation supported by the Eden Project. It is available to all businesses, buildings and projects committed to improving sustainability, with the aim of working with businesses and organizations worldwide to tackle climate change via a people driven program. The Planet Mark gives organizations an understanding of the real benefits of sustainable business practice and puts them into action using tool kits, with the support of its experienced sustainability team.

Steve Walter, HSE Manager at Servomex explains the significance for Servomex: “As a global business, sustainability is a very important element of our approach to Corporate Social Responsibility. The Planet Mark program has helped us to achieve goals whilst providing transparency across our UK business, and may be extended to our entire global operation.”

Servomex’s Environmental Management System drives improvement across the environmental impacts of day-to-day activities and considers the life-cycle impacts of products. The Planet Mark program was implemented and certification achieved as the result of Servomex’s commitment to reduce its carbon footprint (in terms of emissions) by 5% year on year.

Steve Walter adds: “The Planet Mark Certification not only assures our customers and partners that they are dealing with a socially responsible business, but that they also benefit from the efficiencies achieved in terms of production. Servomex is equally committed to reducing the lifetime running costs of our products.”
