ION Science nominated for three categories at the Instrumentation Excellence Awards 2022

At this year’s Instrumentation Excellence Awards, ION Science have been nominated in three different categories: the ‘Sustainability Award’, ‘Best Marketing Campaign’ and ‘Gas Detection Product of the Year’. The nominations are in recognition of ION Science’s endeavours to be an environmentally friendly and sustainable organisation, the company’s excellent marketing strategy and their cutting-edge ARA H2S hydrogen sulphide detector.

These nominations reaffirm and highlight the quality of ION Science’s sensor products, which were recognised earlier this year when their MiniPID 2 Sensor won them the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, Innovation. The MiniPID 2 sensor is also the product that was the subject of the ‘Best Marketing Campaign’ nomination for which ION Science raised market awareness about the opportunity to purchase all MiniPID 2 sensors and components directly from ION Science, its global subsidiaries and authorised distributors.

The sustainability nomination is a just reward for ION Science’s efforts to be an ever-more environmentally sustainable company. ION Science’s environmental commitment is clear to see at their current headquarters and in the plans for their future R&D facility. Both modern, low-profile buildings are designed for energy efficiency and integrate within the landscape, while use of sustainable materials and ground source heat pumps make the facility a far greener working environment. Landscaping to promote plant and insect life at the site has been created and ION Science included extensive EV charging facilities while actively encouraging the use of EV vehicles among their staff to facilitate further reductions in carbon emissions.

The ARA H2S, nominated for ‘Gas Detection Product of the Year’ protects users from exposure to toxic levels of hydrogen sulphide; it is maintenance free and provides continuous monitoring of levels of hydrogen sulphide. Operators do not need to change batteries or sensors – the system’s e-chem detection technology provides up to 3 years of reliable and accurate performance. Users can choose their display: a lifetime countdown or real time concentration of hydrogen sulphide; it is possible to alternate between the two if desired. The ARA DOCK4 bump test and calibration station combined with the ARA H2S provides an economical yet reliable solution for keeping personnel safe from this highly dangerous toxic gas.
