A high-class digital experience for the global photvoltaic community

Jul 20 2020

The 37th edition of the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC) sets new standards for online-events in the global PV sector. Around 1,000 plenary, oral and visual presentations will be streamed via live feed through the platform. Two chairpersons will moderate the sessions, while the audience can interact via face to face tools and Q&A chats. Up to 30 exhibitors will display their new products and technological highlights in virtual showrooms. An additional streaming room will be dedicated to Industry presentations and discussions. Even the poster presenters can communicate face to face and with a live Q&A chat.

“We are very happy that we succeeded to transform the EU PVSEC into a high-quality, live and interactive online experience for the global PV community”, says EU PVSEC’s event manager Jonas Bergmiller. “Participants and exhibitors can be sure that we are devoted to making this year’s EU PVSEC online edition excellent.”

The sessions provide deep insights into PV technologies and applications, from new solar cell architectures and perovskites to floating PV. Further topics include energy storage, BOS components and recycling. To reflect the rapid increase and the outstanding perspectives of the PV market, EU PVSEC 2020 extends its focus to applied and policy-orientated topics.

“The EU PVSEC is the ideal platform to refresh and develop networks, to learn about the latest developments in photovoltaic technology and to contribute to the debate on how we can use the technology to protect and enhance our energy supply”, says the General Chair for the EU PVSEC 2020 Prof. Nicola Pearsall.

Prof. Pearsall is the former Head of the Newcastle Photovoltaics Applications Group at Northumbria University. In her research career, she has addressed a wide range of topics in photovoltaics, the development of space solar cells, in which she received her PhD, thin film compound solar cells, building integrated photovoltaic systems and environmental impact assessment. Her current research relates to PV system performance assessment and correlation with system design and implementation, with the aim of obtaining the highest lifetime output of the system.

With this year’s conference taking place digitally, participants can easily attend from all over the world without travel and hotel costs. The registration has started on July 1 and early bird discounts are available until July 31.

The EU PVSEC is the largest international Conference for Photovoltaic research, technologies and applications and at the same time a PV Industry Exhibition, where specialized PV Industry presents technologies, innovations and new concepts in the upstream PV sector. It gathers the global PV community to present and discuss the latest developments in Photovoltaics, to network and to conduct business.

It is the world-renowned science-to-science and science-to-industry platform with a full and only focus on the global PV Solar sector.

The conference programme is coordinated by the European Commission Joint Research Centre.
