Nuclear Engineer Rossella Mimmi, will be speaking at ACHEMA2018 on June 13 at 4.30pm about the potential of using biomethane with advanced automation.Rossella joined Emerson Process Management in 2001, as a Laureagraduate of Nuclear Engineering, having worked in regulator technologies in the natural gas pipeline industry. Rossella lives in her hometown of Bologna, where she is Business Development Manager O&G Midstream for Emerson Automation Solutions. Her responsibilities include increasing customer recognition of the flow group’s capabilities, and identifying growth opportunities.

Automation technology is helping operators take advantage of a new form of eco-friendly energy that’s driving faster market growth than any other gas in the world. Europe has a potential of biomethane production included between 151 and 246 billion of cubic meters per year; within 2025 in the world new biogas plant will be built to produce about 2.600 MW and Europe, that already is the most important driver of this market, will continue to be leader. Emerson explains how integrated measurement and control solutions are making it possible for biomethane vendors to tap into one of the most promising new growth opportunities in the European renewable energy market—all while reducing operating costs and meeting the latest regulatory standards.

A biomethane skid is composed of different sections with many devices and instrumentation. It is critical that all devices work together seamlessly to guarantee the quality of the gas produced. Size and footprint must be minimized. The skid must comply with very stringent regulations and standards, and deliver reliable, efficient and safe operations for all its lifecycle.

Biomethane presents a great new opportunity for Europe in terms of a low cost, eco-friendly form of energy, and the market for this renewable gas is growing rapidly. Incentives are available in Europe to increase the amount of biomethane added to the grid.

Advanced automation technologies now available enable operators to meet their daily goals and take advantage of a thriving new market.

Emerson see great benefits to their customers if they choose a single supplier to provide the complete system, especially when they are using technology that has proven to be extremely effective. Emerson can also offer full time design expertise, who can work according to European standards calling on dedicated project resources. When you add established pressure regulation and odorisation solutions and lifecycle service to these great benefits, Emerson are clearly aiming to make life easier and more profitable for the biomethane market
