Element Materials Technology (Element) has acquired the assets of Northumbrian Water’s (NW) air quality (AQ) testing business, a leading provider of environmental monitoring services, including MCERTS accredited stack emissions testing, noise monitoring and modelling, and UKAS accredited sound insulation testing.

The acquired business, which has been established for 25 years, operates throughout the UK and Ireland, and has one of the largest dedicated teams of MCERTS certified consultants. These experts deliver outstanding customer service and technical excellence by supporting clients across a range of industries with regulatory compliance monitoring, EN 14181 CEMS calibration, process investigations, and a wide range of environmental consultancy services.

Matt Davies, EVP, Infrastructure and Environmental, Element said: “This acquisition enhances our technical capabilities and broadens our scale and service offering within the stack emissions market. The business complements our existing testing facilities in the UK and Ireland, and customers will also now have access to new capabilities in ambient air quality monitoring, noise modelling, and sound insulation testing.

The addition of NW’s AQ business to our portfolio confirms our leadership position in the UK stack emissions testing market and positions us well for further growth.”
