Grimm Aerosol Technik’s model 11-D offers an optimal solution for reliable, flexible and real-time measurements for aerosol research and indoor air quality. The model 11 has a compact and robust design with all the benefits users have come to expect from Grimm’s range of portable aerosol spectrometers along with enhanced optical detection, a long battery life and facilitated handling.

The 11-D has pre-set environmental algorithms for TSP, PM10, PM4, PM2.5 PM1 and PM coarse and indoor air algorithms for pm10, pm2.5, pm1, inhalable, thoracic, respirable measurements. This highly versatile instrument performs real-time monitoring of particle number over size, particle surface over size, particle mass over size and can relay additional information of particle number, particle surface, and dust mass distribution. Grimm’s 11-D features 31 equidistant size channels, which are PSL traceable and an integrated 47 mm PTFE filter. This unit enables data acquisition and communication via Bluetooth, USB, Ethernet and RS-232. The 11-D’s reliability is further enhanced by its rinsing air feature, which protects the laser and detector in the optical cell. Within the optical cell is an internal sensor for temperature and relative humidity as well as the capability to analyse total inlet flow (1.2L/min). A self-testing facility to ensure that all optical and pneumatic components are still performing to the highest quality standards also gives operators peace of mind that they are achieving the most accurate measurements.

With all of these features, it is understandable that Grimm feel that they have a world leading portable aerosol spectrometer for monitoring inhalable, thoracic and respirable dust, PM values, and particle number concentration. This highly reliable instrument is already an indispensable tool for many technicians measuring aerosol levels and indoor air quality, whether inside vehicles, or in office or industrial locations.
