EA steps up water quality testing in Lincolnshire
May 18 2011
Members of the organisation have been working closely with Anglian Water and local businesses to make necessary upgrades to wastewater and sewage treatment works across the county.
Representative Adrian Lack has suggested that bathing waters in the area have "improved dramatically" in the past 20 years, but more work is being done to perfect them further.
The EA is keen to tackle all sources of pollution at nine sites scattered across the area from Cleethorpes to Skegness.
"Our new profiles provide the most comprehensive information yet on the cleanliness of bathing waters, helping the public to make more informed choices about the best locations to bathe," commented Mr Lack.
Last week, the organisation urged dog owners to do their bit for the preservation of water quality by picking up mess left by their animals, thus preventing it from polluting the sea in public swimming areas.
