There’s No Excuse for Not Wearing a Respiratory Mask

Mar 08 2017 Read 1444 Times

Last year, around 33,000 workers suffered breathing or lung problems thought to be caused or made worse by their working environments.

The main benefits of wearing a Respiratory Mask is that it helps prevent you from getting ill and therefore helps you to work more safely.

So What’s Your Excuse?

  • “It’s uncomfortable”
  • “It interferes with my safety goggles”
  • “It’s hard to talk and my colleagues can’t hear me”
  • “It makes it awkward to work”

a1-cbiss supply the new innovative AVIVA half face mask from leading brand manufacturer, Scott Safety. The AVIVA counteracts the excuses that people make for not wearing a protective face mask.

  • Double seal - absorbs facial movements, maintaining face seal
  • Goggle pinch – aligns with safety goggles
  • Enhanced voice panel - be heard by your colleagues
  • Downward facing exhale valve - avoids misting to eyewear
  • Comfortable, durable head cradle - suitable for use underneath headwear.

Size Matters

Depending on the shape and size of your face, you may require a different mask. One size does not fit all. The new Scott Safety AVIVA half mask respirator has been designed in three sizes – small, medium and large.
Masks require a tight fit to your face. With these types, it is essential that you are fit tested as part of the selection process to ensure that the mask forms a good seal to your face. Talk to a1-cbiss about providing guidance on the importance of fit testing for tight-fitting masks and practical tips on how to carry out a fit check.

Filters

The AVIVA half mask is available for use with a wide range of filters that protect against a wide range of hazards including dusts, mists, gases, vapours, bacteria and viruses in a variety of industrial situations such as asbestos removal, manufacturing, welding and pharmaceuticals.

There are three versions of AVIVA half mask available. Your selection is based on whether you prefer single or twin filters attached to the mask. Each mask is available with the following filters:

  • AVIVA2: Pro2 Flex*/Pro2 filters
  • AVIVA40: Pro2000 filters
  • AVIVA50: PF251
