This is What Cutting-Edge Air Sampling Looks Like
Jul 20 2022
The MerPAS® (Mercury Passive Air Sampler) is the latest high performance air sampling option from Tekran. Based on the well-proven design developed by researchers at the University of Toronto, MerPAS® is the perfect air sampling solution for locations not requiring high-resolution data or where greater spatial coverage is needed to complement a single location high resolution, electronic mercury monitor.
MerPAS® can be configured to sample either background ambient air or highly-contaminated industrial locations over a wide range of sample times. After collection, the MerPAS® carbon collection media is analyzed by Tekran, or in the customers laboratory using the thermal combustion method (e.g. USEPA Method 7374).
Key features:
- No power required - easy to deploy & retrieve
- Low cost – low temporal resolution
- Wide concentration range (1 ng/m3 to 10 mg/m3)
- Uses well-known diffusive barrier
- Highly tested and characterized sample rate
Published applications:
- Global monitoring and networks
- Isotopic fingerprinting
- Inhalation exposure - artisanal gold mining & industry
- Contaminated indoor air
- Contaminated mine site spatial mapping & fluxUrban spatial mapping
- Air-surface exchange – GEM gradients
