Award for Outstanding Achievements in the Field of Air Pollution Control

Aug 27 2009

Thermo Fisher Scientific (USA) announce it was recently awarded the 2008-2009 J. Deane Sensenbaugh Environmental Technology Award for outstanding achievements in the field of air pollution control.

Thermo Fisher was recognised for the Thermo Scientific Mercury Freedom System for monitoring mercury in power plant emissions. The system was introduced in 2005 to meet the US EPA Part 75 requirements for mercury monitoring.

Selected by the Air & Waste Management Association Board of Directors in recognition for the system’s state-of-art technology, customer benefits and significance in the field, the nomination came from three customers currently utilising the system. One nomination stated that, “Being able to integrate this complex technology and package it in a manner that was easy to use and consistent in layout and operation with existing CEMS is what has set Thermo (Fisher) apart from the other mercury systems on the market.”
