Technical Workshops: Best Practice for In-stack Particulate and Flow Measurement
Jun 08 2016
PCME’s new series of free Technical Workshops provide practical guidance towards best practice for particulate emission and flow monitoring. Designed to focus on the most common issues faced during dust and flow monitor selection, installation and on-going instrument optimisation, these Workshops are ideal for Process Operators with responsibility for specifying and maintaining equipment to control industrial particulate emissions and meeting site environmental obligations.
Led by experienced engineers with strong practical on-site experience, topics include:
Regulations and Approvals
- Industrial Emissions Directive implementation
- Implications of the new European Flow Monitoring Standard: EN 16911-2
- Changes to be adopted in all new Guidance Notes and Permits
- New rules on emissions from Medium Combustion Plant (MCP) Directive.
Particulate and Flow Monitoring Technology using Best Available Techniques (BAT) to suit your process
- Choosing the right technology to suit specific processes and arrestment plant
- Approvals and Certification range considerations.
Maintaining accuracy and reliability through preventative maintenance
- Determining appropriate maintenance intervals to match process conditions and regulatory regimes
- The role of Reference Audit Units to satisfy regulatory compliance and to ensure instrument stability
- Performing high quality calibrations.
Understanding your Emission Profile through Data Analysis
- More than compliance reporting: using advanced features and secondary datasets to quality data
- Data interpretation for improved instrument performance and to assist service regimes.
Practical Sessions
- The importance of CEMS analyser location in your process and the impact of filtration or process operation changes on the analyser
- CEMS in practice for process optimisation, filter diagnostics and assisting maintenance programmes.
Events are completely free of charge – lunch and refreshments will be provided. In addition, delegates will receive a workshop manual and USB containing presentations and useful documentation.
The first two Workshops take place later this month:
- Tuesday 28 June at Alexandra House, Swindon
- Thursday 30 June at Weetwood Hall, Leeds.
