National Oceanography Centre to host Microplastics Symposium

30 Aug, 2024

PerkinElmer are delighted to announce their second Microplastic Symposium, this year hosted at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton on 13 and 14 November 2024.

Join leading microplastics experts as they present their research on microplastics analysis methods and explore the profound effects microplastics are having on our bodies, wildlife, and the environment.

A plethora of research studies have shown that microplastics are now ubiquitous in our lives and environment. From the depths of our oceans to the top of our mountains and even in some of the most untouched corners of the globe, microplastics are being detected everywhere.

The potentially damaging impacts of microplastics on health and the environment are still far from fully understood. Therefore, arming scientists with the necessary training, techniques, and equipment to be able to interrogate and find answers to these issues is key.

With more than 85 years of delivering analytical solutions, PerkinElmer is a trusted partner for your microplastics analysis and research needs.  Our comprehensive and innovative solutions will help you to better identify and quantitate microplastics as well as measure their biological impact on the marine and freshwater ecosystems and the food chain.

During the symposium, in addition to plenary presentations, the packed agenda will also include optional hands-on practical workshops, providing attendees with insights on how best to approach their sampling preparation methods based upon the desired outcome. Topics covered will be sampling techniques such as digestion and density separation and filtration.

Don't miss this informative event, which offers ample networking time and the chance to present your research and/or display a poster.
