Another Celebrity for the Jungle – Outdoor Noise Monitoring

Jan 02 2008 Read 1158 Times

Measurement of environmental noise outside, or around the perimeter of a site demands an instrument which is rugged. The popular NoisePro is the most rugged of Noise Dosemeters, and is commonly used for industrial noise dose and sound level measurement.
And now there is an outdoor kit, protecting the instrument in a compact, watertight case, whilst allowing the boom microphone to operate effectively whilst the NoisePro is mounted unobtrusively from perimeter fencing.
Noise data is datalogged at any interval you choose, and includes Leq, Lmax, Lpk and Lmin. You can collect 60 hours of data at one-minute interval logging. The disposable alkaline battery allows 50 hours – two days -of unattended operation.
Data can be retrieved in seconds using the powerful software supplied. Once downloaded, you can view graphs, formatted reports, statistical data, and overall summary.
You can of course use the NoisePro as a standard dosemeter, monitoring noise in the workplace, or plug in a rigid boom microphone to use it as an inexpensive Intrinsically Safe datalogging Sound Level Meter. It sets new standards in value for noise dosemeters, providing features previously only found in larger, heavier, highly-priced instruments.
Details of Sound Level Meters and Noise Dosemeters can be obtained from Shawcity Limited (UK).
