TOC analysis for pure water applications
Jan 15 2015
In industry, pure water and ultra pure water are used as raw material, auxiliary or operating material. Its quality is of great importance, since any contamination may result in a shutdown of the entire production facility or in discharge of pollutant / clean water. Downtimes and the discharge of clean water should be avoided.
LAR's QuickTOCpurity is an online TOC analyser (total organic carbon) customized for pure water and ultra pure water applications. The sample is injected via a special injection loop, minimizing environmental influences to the sample. The heart of the TOC analyser is the oven, where the thermal oxidation takes place. It works with the ultra high temperature combustion at 1,200°C, guaranteeing the complete oxidation of all organic compounds to carbon dioxide (CO2). Then, the produced CO2 will be measured by an NDIR detector resulting in the exact determination of TOC. The QuickTOCpurity is able to measure up to 6 sample streams in one unit. It is operated by a self-explanatory software via a modern 10.4“ touchscreen display. Due to the integrated calibration and validation technique using a special gas, called QuickCalibration, operators have the opportunity to check the analyser automatically and remotely at any time.
Worldwide, there are hundreds of LAR's pure water TOC analysers in operation.
