Groundwater Monitoring
Powerful and accurate measuring system for monitoring and management of groundwater wells
May 16 2019
Through continuous sampling and subsequent laboratory analysis of the samples, early identification of changes inside an aquifer can be determined. However, the laboratory analysis data can only be used for comparison, if the previous samples were taken under representative and reproducible conditions. To reach a better understanding of the subsequent analysis values, the measurement values should ideally be recorded during the pumping process, before the actual sampling starts. This is can be achieved by using ORi’s ORIwell System for groundwater sampling.
This powerful sampler has a modular design and meets the criteria of EN ISO 5667-xx. It features an IQ Sensor Net System for numerous parameters such as pH, ORP, conductivity, temperature, DO and turbidity, a ‘watchdog’ function to determine optimum sampling times and advanced software for archiving, management documentation, measuring, analysis and control.
The ORIwell’s data logging is carried out in combination with permanently installed online-measuring units, coupled via the mA output signal to the control box. With this layout operators can choose up to 12 different measurement parameters for the ORIwell system.
The tried and tested, submersible pump is made of materials that do not emit any impurities to the medium, therefore avoiding sample contamination. The unit includes a Grundfos MP1 environmental pump, which is controlled either via a handheld terminal or with the ORIwell control box.
