Drinking water quality changes made in Florida

Pinellas County commissioners have decided that the local authority will remove fluoride from supplies of public water, as concerns grow over its effects on human beings.
Action groups have been campaigning for the removal of the chemical, after highlighting the potentially damaging impact it can have on children in particular.
However, other groups such as the American Dental Association have slammed the decision, suggesting that the addition of fluoride to drinking water helps reduce tooth cavities.
Up to 700,000 people across the county are expected to be affected by the alterations.
Largo mayor Pat Gerard told TampaBay.com that the committee's decision was "embarrassing and short-sighted".
According to a recent study by the London Science Museum, the majority of Britons would choose to sacrifice safe and clean drinking water before they gave up on their internet connections.

Fluoride is neither a nutrient nor required for healthy teeth, making it a drug. Rotten diets make rotten teeth and no amount of fluoride will change that. Fluoride is regulated as a drug in fluoridated toothpaste by the FDA. The EPA regulates fluoride in water as a contaminant. No mater what it's called, fluoride has side effects - some very serious. See http://www.FluorideAction.Net/health Fluoride is inhaled in showers and absorbed in baths and is in virtually all foods and beverages and more dental products than you are aware of. Those for and against fluoride agree that too much fluoride is a bad thing. How much fluoride did you eat and breathe in today? No one knows for sure making the addition of fluoride into people's bodies via the water a misguided medical practice that legislators should never be involved in. Those who believe in ingesting fluoride (and it is a belief because science doesn't support it) can put a drop of fluoride in a quart of water and drink up and leave the rest of us and the water supply alone. Very simple and cheap solution.
