Keep calm and clamp-on with non-invasive liquid flow measurement

Katronic Technologies Ltd, founded in the United Kingdom in 1996, began as a distributor of process measurement instrumentation with a particular focus on ultrasonic technologies. By 2003, the company had transitioned into manufacturing its own line of non-invasive ultrasonic flowmeters for liquids. Over the years, Katronic has become a respected manufacturer of clamp-on flowmeters, recognised for its commitment to quality, precision, and exceptional customer service. The company operates regional offices in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Katronic produces a range of ultrasonic flowmeters tailored for various industrial applications, including water and wastewater, oil and gas, energy, chemical processing, and the food and beverage sectors. These clamp-on flowmeters provide accurate, real-time flow measurements without requiring pipe modifications or process interruptions. Utilising advanced transit-time technology, the sensors measure flow externally, ensuring a fast, non-invasive, and cost-effective installation process. Each flowmeter is engineered for high accuracy, ease of use, and operational flexibility.

The company offers both portable and fixed units. The KATflow 200 is a compact handheld instrument designed for easy operation in confined spaces or at height. The KATflow 210 is a portable model featuring advanced battery technology and a durable waterproof housing, suited for long-term installations. The KATflow 230 offers dual-channel capabilities with various communication options, including HQM.

For fixed installations, the KATflow 100 is a compact and robust unit ideal for permanent monitoring on single pipes. The KATflow 150 is a flagship model known for its versatility and performance, offering dual-channel operation and extensive configuration options. In addition, Katronic manufactures energy meters that combine flow and temperature measurements to calculate thermal energy or BTU consumption, commonly used in heating and cooling systems.

For more complex applications, dual-path and multi-path flowmeters are available for large-diameter pipes or challenging flow conditions, offering enhanced accuracy and redundancy. The KATflow 170 is designed for use in hazardous environments, featuring a corrosion-resistant build and full ATEX certification for explosive atmospheres.

The company’s KATflow 150 model has earned MCERTS certification from the UK Environment Agency, confirming its performance, accuracy, and reliability in water, wastewater, and environmental monitoring applications. This certification ensures that the device meets stringent regulatory standards and operates effectively under real-world conditions.

Katronic’s global reputation is built on quality manufacturing, technical expertise, and a customer-centric approach. This has positioned the company as a trusted partner in ultrasonic flow measurement solutions worldwide.
