Research & Development Capabilities are Enhanced

Apr 03 2017

Colne-based flood and pollution prevention specialists, Detectronic, have invested £20,000 in further enhancing their research & development capabilities.

The company has purchased a state-of-the-art 3D printer and scanner to accelerate the turnaround of pre-production samples for a new range of next-generation sensor products that are scheduled to launch later this year.

Explains Steve Woods, managing director at Detectronic: “This latest round of corporate investment facilitates additional new product development capacity as we bring to market a series of new, smart-network monitoring equipment and systems for use within the UK and global waste water and trade effluent industries.”

Continues Steve: “At the same time, we have appointed mechanical design engineer, Raimund Burgstaller, who is now installed into our Product Development team.”

Raimund, who hails from Austria, gained his MEng (Hons) from the University of Lincoln and brings to Detectronic a number of skill sets which complement and broaden the capabilities of the R&D team. Amongst his duties and responsibilities, Raimund is overseeing the integration and operation of the new 3D printing system.
