Portable Atomic Flourescence Spectroscopy for Mercury Analysis

May 24 2013

Symptoms of mercury exposure can include seizures, memory loss, and in some cases affect fatality. To reduce these risks, several guidelines and regulations exist to limit mercury exposure, including special methods required for clean up if an incident should occur.

At the ICMGP stand 16, ABLE & Arizona Instruments (UK) will be showing the new Jerome J505 Atomic Fluorescence Analyser; a handheld atomic fluorescence spectrophotometer that measures the concentration of mercury in air. The detection range of this instrument is 50ng/m3 to 0.5mg/m3, exceeding the current industrial exposure limits, as well as clean-up levels for public facilities.
