Binder Reach Milestone on the Road to the Future

Apr 22 2008

BINDER GmbH, (Tuttlingen. Germany), celebrated the official opening of its new Production and Technology Center (PTC) at the end of last year as part of the company’s visionary ‘Project 2013’, a double digit millions capital investment that will equip the company to meet future changing market conditions. The ceremony was attended by important representatives from the fields of business and politics, including Volker Kauder, Member of the Bundestag Federal Parliament, Michael Beck, Mayor of the City of Tuttlingen, Guido Wolf, Member of the Land of Baden-Württemberg Parliament, and Ulrich P. Hermani, Managing Director of the VDMA Baden-Württemberg.
The investment saw expansion of the production area, with structures and processes having been integrated into a single unified system; this required realignment of manufacturing and assembly lines, as well as in-house logistics.
"We operate in an environment of international competition, serving customers who expect high quality, customised solutions, and quick delivery.
Optimising our production processes will allow us to significantly increase our production while maintaining strict quality standards, greatly reduce our processing times, and provide a faster and
more flexible response to our customers’ needs.
This will also motivate our employees to become even
more actively involved in the production process. In this respect, the Toyota Production System principle has served as a useful model for us, and we are aiming to increase productivity by at least 20%," says
Peter M. Binder, the owner of the company.
