TOC in ultrapure water - a precise analysis saves money
Dec 22 2014
The guidelines in the use and production of ultrapure water are already known. Thus, fast and accurate measurements are required to initiate remedial measures in case of contamination.
LAR´s QuickTOCpurity meets these requirements.
The TOC analyser QuickTOCpurity determines reliably the true total organic carbon content (TOC) in lowest measuring ranges, in less than 3 minutes (difference method). This speed guarantees that very short peaks can be determined very well during a daily cycle. With a touch of a button, simple and remote controlled calibration and validation can be initiated at any time. With this method contamination and long downtimes are excluded, in contrast to the use of liquid standards. By using the recognised loop injection ultrapure water impurities in ranges of 0... 2,000 ppb can be determined reliably. Generally, in low TOC ranges the direct method is preferred. In this case a weak acid is only supplied as truly required. Thus the QuickTOCpurity reduces the demand of acid significantly. With the patented catalyst-free LAR high temperature combustion at 1,200°C samples are completely oxidised. Furthermore, an adaptation to the application is possible by some options, e.g. the multi-stream-option. With this option you can measure up to six different sample streams with one analyser. Each sample stream is individually lead into the analyser in order to avoid cross contamination. Furthermore, you may build in additional detectors to determine the TNb and COD parameters alongside the TOC or TC.
The online TOC analysis became to the preferred and prescribed method to determine the purity of ultrapure water. LAR´s QuickTOCpurity easily meets the strict requirements - whether monitoring condensate, boiler feed water or cooling water in the measuring range up to 2,000 ppb. Low operating and maintenance costs in combination with the equipment options such as the multi-stream-measurement make the analyser to an optimal solution for TOC analysis in pure water applications.
