Repeatability is King: Up to Tenfold Improvement
May 17 2017
Axetris has improved the repeatability specifications of its mass flow meters and controllers.
Repeatability often more important than absolute accuracy
Repeatability provides information about the precision, that is, the absolute difference between a pair of repeated test results measured by one instrument under unchanged conditions. To measure precision, the same procedures are used under the same environmental conditions, with the same instruments etc.
Since a specific gas control application often refers to a periodically repeated reference measurement, this value is taken as a basis for calibration. For this reason, many applications, like sample injection in gas chromatography or combustion control in elemental analysis systems, value repeatability over absolute accuracy.
High repeatability values still further improved
Axetris mass flow meters and controllers with the proprietary MEMS-based thermal mass flow technology have delighted OEMs worldwide with their extremely high repeatability values since years, and helped them design high-performance instruments. Now, thanks to a number of design and process improvements, Axetris is happy to announce an improvement in published repeatability specifications. The new repeatability specification means that up to 10 times higher repeatability is guaranteed to Axetris customers (see example: Axetris mass flow controller, FS = 1000sccm).
