ICP-MS to Tackle Complex Samples
Apr 09 2017
Thermo Fisher Scientific showcased its new triple quadropole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer, the iCAP TQ ICP-MS system, which provides scientists with advanced interference removal and lower detection limits for challenging sample matrices, while offering a sample introduction component that bolsters experiment reproducibility. The detection of metals and several non-metals is essential to evaluate clinical samples for disease, contamination on industrial sites and the safety of food for human consumption.
Also displayed were new chromatography columns and a kit that will support environmental and industrial markets which are facing challenges from evolving regulatory requirements. These included:
The Thermo Scientific EPA 8270D analyser kit designed to support the detection and monitoring of soil, drinking water and wastewater for semi-volatile organic compounds, enabling the rapid implementation of the U.S. EPA Method 8270D by environmental laboratories worldwide.
The Thermo Scientific Dionex IonPac AS23-4µm analytical and guard columns use smaller resin particles to enable efficient separation and detection of oxyhalides and common inorganic anions in drinking water, groundwater, and wastewater.
The Thermo Scientific Dionex IonPac CS20 ion chromatography columns provide high selectivity for the detection of alkyl and alkanol amines within environmental samples at only one percent of the flow rate of standard bore systems, saving on operating costs and waste production, while maintaining performance.
