Discover the new generation of WatchGas Detectors

Nov 19 2020

#WeAreWatchGas is a renowned and international brand, strategically located in the biggest logistics hub of Europe, Rotterdam, from where a wide network of local distributors throughout the world is being built. Having started with a range of state-of-the-art portable gas detection, WatchGas now also presents a portfolio with a complete line of fixed gas detection, including fixed VOC gas detectors.

Alex Graft, director of UK based Safety Monitors, is pleased with the WatchGas technology to provide gas safety without any concessions: “WatchGas provides some of the most innovative new gas detection solutions I have seen in the industry in some time. Not only do they provide the best in new technology, but they also use these methods to provide cost savings to our customers. WatchGas is not about being the cheapest, they are about being cost-effective and their focus and passion for the safety of workers is why I am happy to recommend them. We here at Safety Monitors believe our work should enrich our lives not cost them and WatchGas meet this ethos in all respects.”

Also, José Carlos Guerra, director of Casella España SA, one of the leading gas detection suppliers in Spain, has implemented a successful strategy to bring WatchGas to this region with many satisfied customers as a result. “Due to Covid-19, the UNI Ozone has proven its quality during disinfection applications. We are also very pleased with the pricing on the PDM and QGM which allowed us to provide customers with a much better-priced gas detector in these difficult Covid-19 times.”

WatchGas believes in providing safety in the form of gas detection to as many potential users as possible. A vision without borders, with the ambition to implement this philosophy internationally. Just as with hygiene and food, safety should be a first requirement. With a large range of portable and fixed gas detection, WatchGas can offer you the right solutions from an assortment consisting of over 1000 different measurable gases to serve numerous applications. Some of the most common examples: O2, CO, H2S, SO2, Cl2, NO, NO2, H2, PH3, ETO, NH3, ClO2, HCN, O3, HF, HCl, methyl mercaptan, THT, acetaldehyde, formaldehyde, ethanol, methanol, formic acid, benzene, and many more.

Besides the number of gases, WatchGas’ continued development and refinement of advanced low-power LED photometric infrared technology for LEL detection of hydrocarbon gases has made gas detection safer, simpler, and more reliable than ever before, while allowing previously unheard-of battery life. Think about the comparison of an incandescent light bulb to an LED light bulb. Like the LED light bulb, an LED photometric infrared LEL sensor does not need to use a lot of energy to do the job. One gas detector that perfectly demonstrates the benefits of such energy conservation is the WatchGas QGM 4-gas detector for hydrogen sulphide (H2S), carbon monoxide (CO), oxygen (O2), and combustible gases (LEL). The detector can perform for over 2 months continuously. Just press the power button, clip it on, and the QGM will detect the presence of gas for months without needing to be recharged. The longevity of these detectors helps keep workers safe around the clock and removes the risk of a detector powering down in the middle of a job. Furthermore, with ATEX, UL, INMETRO, IECEX, and others, these detectors comply with most of the worldwide required certifications.

Unlike the ‘standard’ diffusive 4-gas detector, the pumped WatchGas POLI 5-gas detector is offering more specialised key features. The 4 sensor slots enables the user to combine 4 types of sensors, including the Dual Tox sensors capable of measuring 2 gases with only 1 sensor. Its rugged housing allows the POLI to be used in an ATEX Zone 0 certified zone. The choice of over 30 “plug-and-play” sensors makes this gas detector one of the most versatile detectors on the market, along with other key features like its wireless capabilities, a man-down alarm, but also a pump that can be switched off in the field. In this way, you can use the pumped POLI for a confined-space-check, whereafter you can switch off the pump, clip it to your clothes, and use it as a personal gas detector to enter the confined space, making it a 2-in-1 gas detector.

Where the POLI can have a measuring range of 0.01 - 2000ppm PID sensor available to detect VOC gas, the WatchGas NEO PID would be its superior brother. The NEO PID is a specialised handheld gas detector that detects potentially harmful Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) from as low as 0.001ppm. The key advantage of the NEO is its larger PID lamp, used to detect VOCs reliably and accurately in this low range. With its ATEX Zone 0 and other Intrinsic Safety certifications it is perfect to use in potentially hazardous atmospheres, such as within petrochemical plants, but also for geo-environmental purposes to provide comprehensive risk assessments of on-site contamination. One of the most appealing features of the NEO are the different PID lamps which allow over 800 VOC gases to be detected. You can choose lamps that give you a wide range or target specific ranges if the operator needs to look for a particular type of VOC gas, for example, benzene or butadiene. Like the POLI, the NEO incorporates WatchGas’ unrivalled market leading PID technology with a proven fastest response time on the market.

WatchGas’ local distributor in The Netherlands, 7Solutions in Gas Detection, with whom they currently serve the Benelux, DACH, and Poland region, has extensive experience with PID technology and have already sold over 100 NEO PID monitors. “Over the years we have seen and thoroughly tested many PID instruments of different manufacturers, but none of them could achieve the measuring stability of the WatchGas NEO, partly thanks to its built-in self-zeroing function. Integrating the NEO in the wireless networks we have implemented at customer sites is also an excellent way of offering extra safety to the users. We are looking forward to continue working with WatchGas and bringing their soon-to-be-released new range of next-gen gas detection to the market.” thus Joeri Slootjes, Global Business Manager at 7Solutions BV.
