Co2 Gas Sensors for Air Quality & Air Safety

Mar 10 2008

The Serinusâ„¢ CO2 Sensor is the newest addition to the Gas Sensor family, brought to you by PerkinElmer (USA). It is the first low cost
CO2 sensor based on the principle of nondispersive infrared radiation absorption (NDIR), and combines a robust IR source with a highly reliable Pyroelectric Dual Channel Detector.
Pyroelectric detectors are especially suitable for optical IRbased
gas detection due to their robustness and low sensitivity to environmental temperature influences. A selective IR window allows the precise spectral selection of a gas. Appropriate electronics are required for obtaining a userfriendly signal. A microprocessor converts the amplified sensor signal into a calibrated gas concentration value. The PerkinElmer Gas Sensor family is featured with preprogrammed calibration values that enable safe long-term operation of the device.
Two different models offer OEMs maximum flexibility: PYM122-1 CO2 Air Quality Sensor This sensor is calibrated to meet the air quality application range of 0 to 5000 ppm CO2 content. It provides a 16-bit digitally coded output signal and two additional fixed trigger levels as switched outputs (800 ppm / 1500 ppm).
PYM 122-2 CO2 Air Safety Sensor. This sensor is calibrated to meet the air quality application range of 0 to 10 % CO2 content. It provides a 16-bit digitally coded output signal and two additional fixed trigger levels as switched outputs (1% / 3%). Serinusâ„¢ CO2 Gas Sensors for Air Quality & Air Safety.
