a1-cbiss Back in the Ultrasonic Leak Detector Market

Jul 10 2013

After being away from the market for a few years, a1-are proud to announce they are now ready to re-enter the market with a new ultrasonic leak detection solution across the UK. a1-cbiss are previously known for selling ultrasonic leak detectors to both onshore and offshore applications within the oil & gas industry, building up considerable knowledge and experience in this area.

The introduction of a market leading Ultrasonic Leak Detection solution is a significant step forward as a1-cbiss increase their presence, widening its portable & fixed gas detection product offering. a1-cbiss look forward to being actively involved in meeting customer needs and welcome any requests for consultative advice.

'At the speed of sound'

Gas leak detection instrumentation is designed to detect gases and provide an early indication when a possible dangerous gas leak is present. For traditional gas detection systems to work, the gas needs to come into physical contact with the detection source

As reliable as traditional methods of detection are (in indoor applications) they can be challenged on offshore platforms by weather conditions, dispersion or dilution of the gas cloud.

The MSA ultrasonic gas leak detectors are often used to provide a solution where traditional methods can fail. They instantly detect outdoor hydrocarbon gas leaks by sensing the distinct high frequency acoustic ultrasound emitted by all high-pressure escaping gas leaks at the speed of sound.

Using robust and proven microphone technology, the MSA Ultrasonic EX-5 is immune to background noise, minimising the risk of false alarms. The stainless steel “Ex d” enclosure is explosion proof, providing ATEX and IECEx certification in a wide range of applications such as offshore platforms and refineries.

Equipped with SENSSONIC self-test technology, the MSA ultrasonic detectors meet the challenge of failsafe operation. The self-test technology provides a full acoustic integrity test of the detector every 15 minutes guaranteeing reliable, uninterrupted operation and indication should an error occur.

Using expert product knowledge, a1-cbiss are able to provide more than just the detector; a1-cbiss can offer a bespoke solution. The a1-cbiss pledge is to work with customers to provide a complete project solution from the consultancy right through to the installation and servicing. With nationwide coverage and a dedicated sales office, an experienced team are always just a phone call away (offices in Aberdeen, Merseyside and Farnham with field sales & service staff covering the UK).

Speaking on the distribution agreement, Graham Burns, Gas detection sales manager at a1-cbiss commented “We are delighted to re-establish our relationship with MSA. Robust and well suited for instant & reliable detection of gas leaks in hazardous areas, the Ultrasonic EX-5 is a welcome addition to our range of fixed gas detectors. We believe our extensive knowledge and their high-performance products will give us a good opportunity to expand our reach to potential new customers in the offshore industry.”
