Vaisala have released their new Cirrus Sounding System MW51, a cutting-edge sounding system that provides operators with industry-first functions, such as the ability to perform simultaneous upper air observations, offering unparalleled visibility into swiftly changing weather conditions and improve forecasting precision.
The Vaisala Cirrus Sounding System MW51 features proprietary radio technology and therefore enhanced operational performance and reliability over an extended life cycle. Its compact design makes the MW51 ideal for operation in a vast range of environments. This IP54 rated instrument also offers exceptional protection from the effects of dust and water. This intuitive and user-friendly device offers easy access to real-time sounding status data as well as comprehensive diagnostics. The MW51 also features integral protection against data threats and unauthorised access.
“The WMO Global Observing System network releases more than 1,400 radiosondes every day, and the largest positive impact for global numerical weather predications is achieved with Vaisala upper air sounding products,” according to Aki Lilja, Soundings Director, Weather and Environment, Vaisala.
