Oxygen deficiency monitoring made simple

Jul 20 2018

Weatherall Equipment and Instruments Ltd have announced the arrival of the Riken Keiki OX-600, a cost effective and easy to install standalone oxygen monitor.

Inert gases, such as nitrogen, are used in a wide array of facilities such as laboratories. If they escape they can rapidly displace oxygen and thus kill by asphyxiation, therefore oxygen monitors such as the OX-600 are extremely important and can save lives.

A unique feature of the OX-600 is an LCD screen that displays actual oxygen levels and changes colour at each alarm level. Combined with the built in 85dB sounder this gives powerful audio and visual alarms in an ultra-compact easy to install unit.

The OX-600 comes with two pre-set alarms. However, users can program their own alarm levels if desired. An interesting benefit of this is the ability to set one of the alarms high so the OX-600 can be used for oxygen enrichment as well as deficiency.

Users can access two relay outputs in addition to a 4-20mA output. These allow customers to connect external accessories such as additional sounder beacons, GSM auto diallers etc and control ventilation fans and gas cylinder shutoff valves (with the addition of a simple relay) and also connect to PLC’s and external monitor panels if required.

An extender cable is available that allows the OX-600 to be mounted outside the room allowing staff to monitor the room prior to entry.

The OX-600 is available from Weatherall in mains or battery powered versions. Carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide versions also available
