Air Monitoring
Photoionisation Detection Technology
Mar 01 2017
MOCON, Inc. – Baseline’s line of piD-TECH® eVx sensors deliver performance photoionisation detector (PID) detection for OEM markets. As one of the most widely used gas detection techniques, the PID, in general, is commonly applied in both portable and fixed instruments for detection of a wide variety of organic compounds in ambient air.
MOCON’s plug-in piD-TECH eVx’s capabilities include: minimum detection limits down to 0.5 ppb, greater stability over temperature changes, minimal humidity response, integral shielding, reduced dead volume, reduced and improved response time, and an internally regulated supply voltage able to accept input voltages from 3.2 V to 5.5 V.
The piD-TECH eVx plug-in sensor provides complete photoionisation detection capabilities and is designed to be mechanically interchangeable with major brands of electrochemical sensors. Therefore, it can be installed in portable and stationary gas monitor that accepts City Technology 4P cells.
The MOCON piD-TECH eVx detection capabilities and minimum detection quantity (MDQ) come in eight ranges depending upon lamp energy and application requirements. Some common applications for the piD-TECH eVx sensor include indoor air quality, industrial hygiene and safety monitoring, confined space entry, soil contamination and remediation, hazmat sites and spills, EPA Method 21, and low-concentration leak detection.
