Environmental Monitoring Seminars
Jan 17 2011
a1-cbiss were delighted with the success of their annual consultative environmental monitoring seminars in collaboration with Alcontrol, PCME, WSP and Cryoservice. The two seminars were held at Lakeside Energy from Waste Plant in Slough and MES Energy From Waste Plant in Stoke to give attendees the hands on approach in understanding the complete emissions monitoring process and to experience a working plant.
a1-cbiss are an ISO accredited, leading supplier of environmental monitoring systems specialising in the design, manufacture and integration of fixed and portable environmental monitoring solutions which carry full regulatory approval. Based in Wirral, North West of England, a1-cbiss provide complete turnkey solutions which include their own in-house fully developed MCERTS certified data acquisition software, a comprehensive service offering and an extensive hire portfolio which encompasses a range of MCERTS accredited stack testing equipment with full service, repair and calibration capabilities.
The onsite consultative seminars presented by guest speakers and hosting companies provided an insight into the permit application process, legislation specific to sample plane suitability, an overview of proven equipment to meet site CEMS permit requirements and methods to improve operator OMA scores.
The hands on approach went down well with delegates as they were keen to move away from the classroom environment in which so many seminars are held. The morning session consisted of presentations from all partner companies to delegates followed by a free buffet lunch where delegates had a networking opportunity to speak with presenters and other attendees. The afternoon session included a site tour from respective plant representatives followed by a practical session on ‘How to improve your OMA score’ with a bottle of champagne for the operator picking up the most audit points.
a1-cbiss are looking to hold their next environmental monitoring seminar in June 2011 which will follow a workshop format again and welcome anyone who is interested to contact them. More details will be available at the MCERTS show stand on 6-7th April, Bretby where they will be collaborating with business partner Environnement S.A.
