Weather Monitoring
A simple and automatic solution to obtain precise weather information
Sep 27 2021
Accurate and reliable information about the weather is becoming increasingly important. Communities need to be as prepared as possible for extreme weather events and to continuously analyse weather conditions on roads, infrastructure or in towns and cities.
For the permanent acquisition of different weather data, HyQuest Solutions (KISTERS Group) has recently launched their new WeatherSens product line with high-precision, all-in-one, multi-parameter weather stations. The low-maintenance compact weather stations, made of corrosion-resistant materials, are particularly suitable for applications in hydrometeorology and agrometeorology, environmental monitoring, smart cities, weather monitoring on roads and infrastructure as well as in industry. WeatherSens measures up to seven weather parameters such as wind speed and direction, air temperature, humidity and pressure, rainfall and solar radiation. The durable WeatherSens stations are IP66 rated and have been tested and approved for high and low temperature ranges, humid weather, windy and coastal environments with salt spray and vibration. Universal interfaces such as SDI-12 or RS 485 ensure easy connection to data loggers or control systems.
The new WeatherSens stations add to an already extensive portfolio of meteorological sensors and systems from HyQuest Solutions and complement the proven precipitation measuring devices based on tipping bucket or weighing technology with their innovative photo- or piezoelectric sensor technology for rain measurement.
Do you need to configure specific weather measurement parameters?
The WeatherSens MP series’ sensors are made with aluminum coating and a Teflon alloy while the sensors of the WeatherSens WS series are made of corrosion-resistant polycarbonate that can be configured for specific applications, by setting measurement parameters and data communication interfaces. Thanks to low power consumption, WeatherSens stations can be powered by a solar panel.
