Handheld UV-T Monitor to Incorporate a UV-C LED Light Source
Jun 27 2017
Monitoring UV-Transmittance is an important part of UV system control. The UVT-LED Handheld is the world’s first UV-T monitor to incorporate a UV-C LED light source in place of a traditional mercury lamp. This ensures extremely stable readings in all conditions, over an extended lifetime.
Using this portable unit is a cost effective method for customers to check their systems and get an idea of energy savings before investing in a permanent system. The unique and lightweight patent pending design utilises a single lamp and sensor, eliminating drift seen in designs using multiple lamps and sensors. The handheld can acquire very accurate UV Transmittance data on water samples with an easy one-button operation. Designed for reliability in the field, the unit is built with a Nickel-Cadmium (NiCad) battery and can take up to 350 readings on a single charge.
The handheld also benefits the user by reducing maintenance, LED technology eliminates the need for replacement cuvettes or lamps. Calibrating the handheld is quick and simple too and only requires a small amount of deionised (DI) water.
