A Reliable and Cost Effective Solution for Online COD Analysis

GIMAT Liquid Monitoring’s (Germany) COD-LAB and COD-FIX are highly versatile online analysers for continuous monitoring of chemical oxygen demand (COD). These instruments offer highly accurate measurements to ensure control and regulatory compliance, with low maintenance and running costs.
The measurement range can be set at between 0.5 and 50.000 mg/L, making it suitable for drinking water and industrial/waste water monitoring. Typical applications include process control, monitoring inflows and outflows at treatment plants, determining peak concentrations and measurement of production losses in scenarios such as food manufacturing and the chemical industry.
The COD value is calculated from the consumption of an oxidising agent so hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is added to the sample.
When exposed to UV radiation, H2O2 forms highly reactive hydroxyl (OH) radicals which rapidly react with oxidisable compounds. As a result, the oxidation process is very fast and a precise measurement can be achieved within a few minutes.
These instruments are built around optical oxygen measurement, with a special luminescence sensor that needs virtually zero maintenance and is drift-free.
COD-LAB and COD-FIX operate with totally sustainable measuring techniques. Unlike many analysers available on the market, no harmful reagents and by-products occur from the measurement technique.
The annual operating costs amount to less than 1,000 euros, a second to none price performance ratio for continuous COD analysers.
The COD-LAB is ideal for operating in dry, heated spaces. The COD-FIX can also be installed outdoors, directly at the site of measurement.
